South Korea’s election of Park Geun-Hye is NOT cause for celebration.

Take into account that she is the daughter of Park Chung-Hee, South Korea’s authoritarian leader who ruled in the years 1961 to 1979 and committed many human rights violations during his regime.

Or the fact that Park’s own party (Saenuri Party) has a notably poor record on women’s issues.

Or just that her politics are conservative, dismissive of lower classes (can’t even remember the minimum wage in “her” country), and, frankly, a threat to the people and democratization of the country.
